Torque Tester：Model 5500

Torque Tester/one part designed as a plug. In the IEC 60950-1 Clause 4.3.6 is explained how to control the maximum torque that a device as mentioned above generates on a socket

outlet.

Figure 11 of this standard describes such test equipment. In principle

this equipment is balance test equipment

Technical specifications

1.  The equipment is designed according to Fig. 11

2.  Scale ranges are 0 - 0,25 Nm or 0 - 0,50 Nm

3.  The equipment has a counter weight for setting zero balance

4.  By moving the weights on a linear mm scale the torque that the plug is generating is measured

5.  The two weights are 102 gram (1 N) or 204 gram (2 N) together with the weight holder

6.  There are 3 types of adapters: for resp. UK, USA and Europe included

Instruction how to carry out the measurement

1.  Control the zero balance without: weight and weight holder hanging on

2.  Choose the correct adapter

3.  Plug in the sample into the test equipment outlet

4.  Use weight for 102 gram for measuring range 0-0,25 Nm

5.  By moving the sample holder to correct position you find balance value of the torque
